Wing Fung Tong Co (previous) was a well-established and revered name in the Downtown Sacramento Traditional Chinese medicine and holistic healing community. Founded in 1986 by Mr. Duc Duong, our journey began with a passion for healing and a commitment to serving the community.
Here's a glimpse of our inspiring story:
The journey of Mr. Duong's lifelong dedication to the art of healing with Traditional Chinese herbal medicine is rooted in his upbringing in Southern China. Since his teenage years, he studied and practiced the ancient wisdom of Chinese herbal medicine. He would often traverse country lines into Northern Vietnam to provide herbs and treatments to local Chinese-Vietnamese villages, using Traditional Chinese herbal remedies to bring relief and well-being to those in need.
In 1979, Mr. Duong and his wife, Kathy Ly, made the journey to the United States as refugees. Despite arriving with just the clothes on their backs, they carried a wealth of knowledge and a profound eagerness to contribute to their new community. Mr. Duong's dedication to assisting his fellow refugees and immigrants, who often grappled with the complexities of the American healthcare system due to language barriers, inspired him to make house calls, even in the dead of night, to offer his expertise and care to friends, families, and patients.
In the early 1980s, Mr. Duong played a crucial role in establishing one of South Sacramento's first Chinese Herbal medicine shops, when he worked as an associate Herbalist at Khan Hing Tong. This was a significant step in making Traditional Chinese medicine more accessible to the local community.
In 1986, Mr. Duong and his wife, Kathy Ly, exhibited remarkable dedication by saving and borrowing enough money to acquire a small Chinese grocery market, Luen Fat Market in Downtown Sacramento at 523 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95818. They transformed this local market into Wing Fung Tong Co, incorporating a full Chinese herbal apothecary, herbal teas, supplements, and topicals.
Due to special circumstances, Wing Fung Tong Co closed it doors in Downtown Sacramento after 37 years of commitment and service to the local community.

In late 2023, Wing Fung Tong Herbs, llc was established in the city of Elk Grove, CA.
Today, we are dedicated to preserving the heritage of Traditional Chinese herbal medicine and providing effective, natural, and holistic healing solutions to our community.
